There are four main ways to actively volunteer at WIHN.

Day Center Supervisor:
You can serve as a Day Center supervisor. This commitment comes in 3-5 hour shifts each weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and on holidays. Volunteer supervisors are responsible for opening and closing the building, enforcing guest guidelines, and taking phone messages. Volunteer supervisors go through an extensive orientation to cover the magnitude and depth of their position here. Because of this orientation, volunteer supervisors are asked to volunteer regularly, working at least 4 shifts per year. -
Child Care:
Individuals or small groups are needed to provide care and/or supper for children while our adult guests are in life skills classes. A background check is required for child care providers. This commitment is on Monday evenings, 6-7:30 pm.

Special Projects:
There are often maintenance projects at the Day Center to work on: refurbishing rooms, cleaning, painting, landscaping, and even washing vans. -
Host/Support Congregations:
Congregations may serve as host or support congregations for guests, and there are many opportunities for individual volunteers. See “How Your Congregation Can Participate” for more information.
These opportunities allow families, groups, and individuals to work together. Volunteers are what make WIHN successful!
